Dr. Raphi Mandelbaum
As the cofounder of Biosoil (founded as a partnership together with the ESC in 2004), Dr. Mandelbaum is the managing partner of Biosoil. Dr. Mandelbaum is also the CEO and Chief Scientist of LDD Advanced Technologies.
Dr. Mandelbaum holds a PhD in Microbiology awarded by the Hebrew University (1989) and was the holder of 3 years Post-doc fellowships in ecological microbiology at Penn-State University and the University of Minnesota.
Upon his return to Israel in 1993 Dr. Mandelbaum founded the Soil Microbiology Laboratory at the Volcani Center and became a lecturer of environmental microbiology at the Hebrew University. Along the years, Dr. Mandelbaum published more than one hundred papers on bioremediation many of which have been extensively quoted in academic literature worldwide. His breakthrough paper on microbiological degradation of chlorinated organic substances, specifically the common herbicide Atrazine, gained international scientific recognition and many follow-up studies ensued from his study of enzymes and of genes of the ADP Pseudomonas bacteria, initially discovered by him during his post-doctoral fellowship in the United States.
Dr. Mandelbaum is currently member of the Executive Board of the Israeli Association for Ecology, specifically responsible for liaising with private sector and industry. He served in the past as a member of the award committee of the Israeli Association of Microbiology and as a member of the French-Israeli cooperation committee for Soil and Water Bioremediation.
Ariel Engelberg
The Operations Manager of Biosoil, Ariel has been with us since day one. He was and still is an important part of all of Biosoil's development and expansion projects. Mr. Engelberg has a unique creative and broad vision of operations, awarding Biosoil and its clients with exceptional work of a diligent man with a vision and vigor.
